Any lineman will tell you a true athlete gets busy in the trenches going both ways taking on 300-pound guys play after play for four quarters. Meet Cumming (Ga.) South Forsyth defensive tackle and offensive lineman Nathan Efobi – the college football world is.
The offers have not matched the talent on the field… yet, but the interest level certainly does. Offers are down from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern and Liberty and that list is about to get some serious company.
“I am receiving interest from Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama kind of, Florida, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, App State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Louisville,” Efobi said.
Being a two-way player for the War Eagles, the looks and offers are coming in on both sides with Georgia seeing him as a defensive lineman. The Bulldogs got him on campus for the UAB game this fall.
“That visit was incredible,” Efobi shared. “They treated me like a celebrity. The energy was crazy. That was my first ever college football game. I didn’t know their chants from watching the games on TV, I got to know the chants. It was really dope.”
The Yellow Jackets also got the in-state prospect on campus this season, this one for the meeting with Clemson.
“That was incredible too,” Efobi said. “It was nice. I went with my dad; we had a great experience going together.”
Before the dead period begins, a trip to Knoxville is on the schedule with the possibility of spending time with the Gamecocks. Efobi shared what’s drawing him to spend time with the Volunteers’ coaching staff next week.
“They have me listed as an offensive lineman, I am cool with whatever,” Efobi stated. “Their offensive line coach (Glen Elarbee) came by school to see me. That was crazy; no other coach has done that. He is a really nice guy.”
Efobi shared possible destinations in 2022, “There are a lot of visits I want to take: Clemson, I want to try to get to Michigan, I really want to check them out, Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, and definitely Miami.”
